Summary:

Borrowing the Palm-Leaf Fan Three Times is a full-color, 24-mo format lianhuanhua (illustrated storybook) published by Liaoning Fine Arts Publishing House in December 1984. It is part of a Journey to the West series created collaboratively by four artists: Lin Zhen, Fei Changfu, Xin Kuanliang, and Zhang Xiushi. Artistically, the series employs a decorative style that distinguishes it from traditional, representational lianhuanhua art. The works in this series have twice been selected for the National Art Exhibition, and the English-language rights have been licensed for overseas markets. Liaoning Fine Arts Publishing House reissued the series between 2023 and 2024.
