Synopsis of The Monkey King: Sun Wukong – Part 1: Setting Sail to Seek a Master: Ginseng Fruit secretly boards a bamboo raft to join the Little Stone Monkey on his journey. En route, the Flood Dragon King appears and attempts to kill the Little Stone Monkey, but Guanyin intervenes to save him. Unexpectedly, the Little White Dragon also appears; together, the Little Stone Monkey, Ginseng Fruit, and the Little White Dragon join forces to defeat the pursuing shrimp soldiers and crab warriors. Afterward, the trio decides to travel to the Western Continent of Aparagodaniya to seek a master and learn the arts of cultivation. Meanwhile, back on Flower-Fruit Mountain, the Jade Rabbit follows the Star Lord of the Five Dippers and inadvertently ends up in the Heavenly Palace. An old woman—actually Guanyin in disguise—appears just in time to transport the Little Stone Monkey and his companions to Mount Fangcun. As the three friends climb toward the summit, they encounter a Fire Qilin.
