Summary:
Zhang Dadan (Sammo Hung), a rickshaw puller, boasts of his exceptional courage and fearlessness, often making wagers with others to prove his mettle. One day, returning home early from work, he discovers his wife (Liang Xuewei) having an affair with his own employer, Boss Tan (Huang Xia). Desperate to cover up the truth, Boss Tan dispatches his aide (Tai Bo) to recruit the Maoshan Taoist priest Master Qian (Chen Long) to kill Dadan using sorcery. Master Qian sets a trap, luring Dadan to the Ma family ancestral hall under the guise of a wager, where he uses magic to summon a hopping vampire to hunt him down. However, Master Qian’s junior fellow disciple, Master Xu (Zhong Fa), disapproves of his senior’s murderous, money-grubbing, and wicked ways; he secretly aids Dadan, enabling him to survive the ordeal. Yet, Boss Tan remains relentless; undeterred by the failure of his first scheme, he plots again, determined to see Dadan dead.
