Summary:
Even the legendary Wong Fei-hung is prone to blunders: acting on the advice of his disciples Leung Foon (Leung Kar-yan) and "Buck-tooth" So (Dicky Cheung), he moves his clinic, Po Chi Lam, right next to a brothel—a decision that delights his disciples. The brothel owner, Wong Sze-fu (Natalis Chan), idolizes Wong Fei-hung and desperately wants to become his apprentice, though his overtures are ignored; meanwhile, the prostitutes—including Sze-fu's sister (Anita Yuen)—are treated with distant reserve by the master. Lei Yat-siu (Tsui Chung-sun), an official of the Qing court, is secretly a remnant of the Boxer Rebellion; he colludes with a superior official and a lecherous monk from Nengren Temple to abduct women for trafficking to Southeast Asia. Synopsis: Upon discovering Lei's sinister plot, Wong Fei-hung attempts to rescue the abducted women, thereby making himself a target of Lei's wrath. Later, while performing a lion dance with Leung Foon and "Buck-tooth" So, Wong is suddenly struck deaf—a side effect of Western medicine he had tested on himself to treat a patient—and is defeated by Lei and his henchmen, who are disguised as a giant centipede. On the journey back to Foshan for treatment, he encounters Tie Yan (Sharla Cheung) and her father. Having traveled from Sichuan to Guangzhou to search for a missing sister, they had previously overheard a conversation between Lei Yat-siu and Wong Fei-hung, leading them to mistakenly believe the two men were accomplices.
