Summary:
The short film collection consists of eight independent stories rooted in traditional Chinese culture: “Little Monster’s Summer”, “Geese, Geese, Geese”, “Linlin”, “The Countryside Bus Took Away Wang Haier and the Fairy”, “Xiaoman”, “Jade Rabbit”, “Shop”, “Birds and Fish”, laying out a “monster” story collection with Chinese imagination and aesthetic charm in front of the audience. The stories look back to the past and present and look forward to the future, from ancient stories to science fiction imagination, from rural attachment to aesthetic love, from life themes to human thinking, showing Chinese imagination and carrying Chinese national culture and philosophy.
The film covers a variety of art styles and production techniques: there are traditional two-dimensional, paper-cut, stop-motion animation, as well as modern technologies such as CG and 3D rendering, and innovative attempts to combine sketching with the charm of Chinese ink painting. It is a multi-perspective interpretation of Chinese aesthetics by the creators.
