Summary:
After the four master and disciples retrieved the scriptures, they have become Buddhas and immortals. After hundreds of years, they have their own lives in the current era. Unexpectedly, the moonlight treasure box, the magic weapon of the Tathagata Buddha, was stolen by the White-Bone Spirit. The Buddha ordered Tang Monk to recall it again. Several apprentices, after many hardships, regained the treasure box and completed the Buddha’s mission.
The plot of “Magic Westward Journey” interpret the story of Journey to the West from a new perspective for the audience. In the film, the four masters and apprentices who have been on earth for many years have disappeared in the city. The talkative Tang Seng, the policeman Wukong who fights against injustice, the chef Bajie who likes to steal food, and the car driver Wujing all have their own lives in today’s era. Then Tang Monk was ordered to recall several disciples to take back the treasure box. The four masters and apprentices formed the “Legend of Thailand” and embarked on a hilarious and nonsensical journey to defeat demons in Thailand.
