Summary:

Monkey King, the Great Sade, relied on his extraordinary abilities to cause trouble in the Dragon Palace, the underworld, and heaven. Later, he was imprisoned by Tathagata Buddha at the foot of Wuzhi Mountain. Five hundred years later, he protected Tang Sanzang on his journey to the West to learn Buddhist scriptures, and along the way he conquered the greedy, sleepy, lustful Zhu Bajie and the honest and upright Sha Wujing. The four masters and apprentices traveled through mountains and rivers, and went through countless hardships to defeat demons and demons - Wukong defeated the White Bone Demon three times, fought against the Bull Demon King, outsmarted the Golden and Silver Horn King, made a big fuss in Pansi Cave, and... eliminated countless demons and monsters. It took a total of fourteen years to reach Lingshan to retrieve the scriptures from Chang'an to the West, which was a hundred and eighty thousand miles infested with demons and full of difficulties.

After 200 years, another stone monkey burst out from the spiritual stone in Huaguo Mountain - Xiao Sunsun. The little grandson is as smart and naughty as Sun Wukong. However, after learning Sun Wukong's seventy-two transformations, he turned heaven, the underworld, and the Dragon Palace upside down, making the gods and ghosts uneasy. At this time, because the true scriptures retrieved by Tang Sanzang were too profound, there were many interpretations of the scriptures, which almost turned Buddhism into an evil sect. So Tang Sanzang, who had achieved the right result, asked the Buddha to defeat Sun Wukong’s grandson and find another successor to go to the West to seek the true solution. Therefore, four people, Tang Banjie, a monk from Dashan who was determined to purify Buddhism, Xiao Sunsun, who was convinced by Sun Wukong to subdue his wild nature, Zhu Yijie, Zhu Bajie's son, and Xiao Shami, a disciple of Sha Wujing, were ordered to go to the West to seek the true solution.

Wang Weijiang, who had produced and broadcast the series “Chinese Myths and Stories” in CTV for five years, has now moved his position to CTV and continues to produce “Post-West Journey”, the sequel to the popular “Journey to the West” broadcast on CTV. Launched on August 13, the time slot is every Saturday from 5:30pm to 7:00pm. Wang Weijiang, the producer of “Post-Journey to the West”, believes that the long-term production and broadcast of Chinese myths and stories is due to the use of well-known stories and characters. By chance, I was lucky enough to find the out-of-print rare early Qing woodcut “Journey to the West”, hoping that the sequel of “Journey to the West” can arouse the audience’s interest again.

The characters in “Post-Journey to the West” are depicted vividly and vividly, and the development of the plot is unconstrained, which can satisfy people’s fantasy, but it also has the meaning of punishing evil and promoting good, and persuading the world to warn the world. Zhu Bajie (played by Wang Dezhi) and Sun Wukong (played by Zhang Guangyun) in “Journey to the West” of China Television also followed Wang Weijiang to China Television, and they all continued their original roles. Many of the main actors in “Post-Journey to the West” are from CTV and TTV. Among them, Wang Dezhi performed across the stage. After some communication between CTV and CTV, the trip was made possible. “Post Journey to the West” mainly describes that Xuanzang and Wukong, who have become Buddhas, chose Tang Banyai, a monk who went to the mortal world, as the candidate for the true interpretation of “The Commentary on the True Scripture”. He invited three disciples to follow him, including Sun Luzhen, the little sage of Qitian, Zhu Yijie, a descendant of Zhu Bajie, and Sha Mi, a descendant of Sha Wujing, all went to the West to learn scriptures.

The golden hoop curse originally set on Wukong’s head also appeared on Little Sage’s head. Banjie and his party fight monsters along the way, and finally bring back the true understanding. Banjie’s master and apprentice are the same as the “Journey to the West” group, so they go to heaven and become Buddhas. Tang Banyu, a Chaozhou monk, is played by Ge Weijia of CTV; Zhu Yijie is played by newcomer Ren Chongwei, who is a descendant of the “improved” Zhu Bajie, also known as Zhu Shouzhuo, who has the lazy habit of Zhu Bajie, but has big pig ears Both the monkey nose and the pig’s nose have degenerated; Monkey King, Sun Luzhen is played by Long Chuanren; Sha Wujing’s descendant novice, also known as Sha Zhihe, is played by Sun Shupei. “Post-West Journey” was launched during the summer vacation, just to attract children who are currently on summer vacation.
