Summary:
The 52 episodes of large-scale domestic cartoons in this part are adapted and produced from the classic “Journey to the West”. Tang Seng led his apprentices Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie, Sha Wujing and Bailongma, and a group of five went to the west to learn scriptures. Encountered ninety-nine and eighty-one difficulties on the road, and finally obtained the true scriptures and achieved positive results. The cartoons have added many contemporary elements to the familiar prototypes, and compared with the previous versions, they have more characteristics of the times. It not only retains the essence of the classic classics, but also creates a well-known animated version of the master-student image. “Journey to the West” was jointly invested and produced by the Animation Department of CCTV and the Torch Animation Branch of China International Television Corporation. It took a huge investment and took 6 years to complete. At present, the animated version of “Journey to the West” has been translated into English, French, Spanish and other foreign language versions.
