Summary:
Tathagata sent four master and disciples, together with Xiao Bailong, to the Eastern Land of the Tang Dynasty to preach. Tathagata had an appointment with Emperor Li Shimin of the Tang Dynasty. The Tang Dynasty supported the cause of Buddhism, and Tathagata needed to send a powerful national teacher to stabilize his emperor’s foundation, give him the elixir of immortality, and give him the inexhaustible treasure map. The four master and disciples of Tang Seng met all kinds of monsters and demons along the way, some came for the elixir of immortality, some came for the treasure map, and suffered eighty-one disasters along the way, unfolding a series of unpredictable and bizarre stories.
